Building on the great success of last year’s inaugural event, The Irish Club of the Netherlands is delighted to launch the 2011 St. Patrick’s Festival in The Hague, St Patrick’s Day is the National Holiday of Ireland, and the festivities surrounding the day are a global
phenomenon, with people organizing events and parties all over the world to celebrate Irish culture and heritage. In short, St Patrick’s Day is to the Irish what Queens Day is to the Dutch.

There has been a lot of hullaballoo concerning the smoking ban, here we set the record straight.

We are not in favour of the smoking ban but have to accept the law.

The Bank of Friendship has a surface area of 150 m2 and has staff on the payroll, this means we are not allowed to let people smoke, which is why we built the smoking room in the first place.

We have just made the smoking room 25% bigger for your smoking pleasure and have intoduced music and a TV so you can smoke in comfort and not lose any of  the pub atmosphere or miss the live sports. We trust you understand our situation and our position, sure there are small bars where you can smoke, you can also smoke in our smoking room, we certainly feel we have done our best to accomodate our customers both smokers and non smokers, and are the only pub in the area to have successfully done so.

We regularly have live music in The Bank we always feature the finest local musicians and musicians who are passing through from England Ireland and beyond.
